What are the different types of membrane keypads?

There are usually four different types of membrane switch keypads

1, PET membrane switch, 2, FPC membrane switch, 3, PCB membrane switch, 4, silicone keypad membrane switch.

1, PET membrane switch

The upper circuit and lower circuit layers of the PET membrane switch are made of 0.125mm thick (0.1mm and 0.188mm thickness can be used in special cases) polyester membrane (PET) with excellent toughness, screen-printed conductive silver paste and conductive carbon paste, and dried A circuit with conductive function. PET membrane switch is an ordinary membrane switch.

2.FPC membrane switch

The difference between FPC membrane switches and ordinary membrane switches is that the circuit is no longer a silver paste printed circuit, but a more stable FPC circuit material, which is more resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. FPC membrane switch circuit layer uses FPC flexible circuit board. This circuit has high precision, minimum output spacing of 0.5mm, low resistance value, more stable circuit function and longer service life.

3. PCB membrane switch

The difference between a PCB membrane switch and an ordinary membrane switch is that the circuit is composed of a PCB printed circuit, and a PCB printed circuit board is one of the important components of the electronics industry. Every kind of electronic equipment will use PCB circuit boards, in order to make the electrical interconnection between various components, PCB printed boards will be used. The printed circuit board is composed of an insulating base plate, connecting wires and pads for assembling and welding electronic components. It has the dual functions of conductive lines and insulating base plates. The PCB circuit has high precision, and the welding of LEDs is stronger and the resistance value is lower.

4, Silicone keypad membrane switch

The difference between a silicone membrane switch and an ordinary membrane switch is that the top layer is composed of silica gel material. Silica gel is a highly active adsorption material, an amorphous substance, and its chemical molecular formula is mSiO2·nH2O. It is insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic, tasteless, chemically stable, and does not react with any substances except strong alkali and hydrofluoric acid. Silicone keypad have excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, environmental resistance, electrical insulation, fatigue resistance and other characteristics.
