Why do some keys on my membrane keypad become unresponsive or require hard pressing?

Unresponsive keys are often caused by dust, moisture ingress, metal dome fatigue, or poor contact. At JCF, we use high-quality nickel-plated metal domes and precision printing processes to ensure consistent contact resistance (<100Ω). Our IP67 sealed design effectively prevents contamination, significantly reducing this issue in medical environments.

How reliable is the IP67 waterproof rating for medical devices? Does liquid really not get inside?

Yes. JCF’s medical membrane switches are fully sealed with advanced perimeter gaskets and medical-grade adhesives, passing IP67 testing (immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes). They are highly resistant to common medical disinfectants and bodily fluids, making them ideal for hospital and clinical use.

How long does the metal dome tactile feedback last? Will the “click” feeling disappear over time?

Our premium metal dome tactile membrane switches are rated for over 1,000,000 actuation cycles. We select high-grade stainless steel domes and control the actuation force (typically 150-350gf) to maintain crisp, reliable tactile feedback throughout the product’s lifespan, even with frequent glove use.

Do your LED backlit membrane keypads have uniform brightness and long LED life?

Yes. We use high-quality LEDs with optimized circuit design and low-resistance silver paste to ensure uniform illumination and minimal brightness variation. Our LED solutions are designed for low power consumption and extended lifespan, with options for single-color or multi-color backlighting tailored to medical visibility needs.

Are your membrane switches easy to clean and sterilizable for medical equipment?

Absolutely. We offer medical-grade polycarbonate or polyester overlays with hard coating and antimicrobial treatment. The seamless surface is highly resistant to common hospital disinfectants and can withstand repeated cleaning and sterilization protocols without degradation or discoloration.

What causes air bubbles, wrinkles, or delamination in membrane keypads? How do you prevent it?

Air bubbles and delamination usually result from poor lamination process or low-quality adhesive. JCF uses vacuum lamination and high-performance medical-grade adhesives under strict environmental control to ensure bubble-free, long-term adhesion even in humid or temperature-varying conditions.
