The difference between FPC membrane keypad and PET membrane switch is that the circuit is no longer a silver paste printed circuit, but a more stable FPC copper circuit material, which is more resistant to high temperature and corrosion. The FPC membrane switch circuit layer uses an FPC flexible circuit board, which has high precision, 0.5mm output circuit spacing, extremely low resistance, stable and reliable performance, and long service life.

This type of membrane switch with PET and FPC is called a flexible membrane circuit, because the graphic overlay, isolation layer and circuit layer of the membrane switch circuit are composed of various soft films. The circuit layer of the flexible membrane switch is made of two materials, copper wire (FPC) and polyester membrane (PET) with good electrical properties, as the main carrier of the switch circuit. This layer is also divided into touch metal dome and upper circuit and lower circuit.

Due to the characteristics of polyester membrane, FPC membrane switches have better insulation, heat resistance, flexural resistance and high resilience than PET membrane switches. The circuit of the switch, including the switch connection and its lead wires, is made of low-resistance copper conductive material.
